Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church is getting a new lease on life!
Join us for a tour of the soon-to-be-renovated Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, originally known as the Oak Cliff Assembly of God. The building was designed by Reverend J.C. Hibbard and was completed in 1942. After relocating to the building from their downtown Dallas home, Zion Hill became one of the first African American congregations in East Oak Cliff. Paula Bosse of Flashback: Dallas named the church as one of twelve prominent historic Baptist churches in Dallas to have served black residents. The building is a protected City of Dallas Landmark and was purchased by A.J. and Michaella Ramler, the same husband and wife team who restored the Struck House in West Dallas after it was threatened with demolition. Come hear their future plans for this architecturally and culturally significant church!
