Pull your boots on and two-step with us to the Longhorn Ballroom on Thursday, May 7 for the North Texas preservation industry event of the year! Doors will open at 5:30pm and with Teresa Woodard from WFAA as our emcee, ready to kick the show off right at 6pm! Join us as we recognize the best of the best projects and people supporting history, culture, and preservation from across North Texas!

Stay after the award ceremony to hear live music from the Longhorn Ballroom players, maybe get in a dance or two, enjoy drinks from the bar, and food from Pecan Lodge! This is an industry event you cannot miss at a historic music location we cannot wait to celebrate!

Not familiar with the Longhorn Ballroom? The iconic Longhorn Ballroom was built in 1950 for country music legend Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys, the venue was originally named Bob Wills’ Ranch House. It was later managed for a time by Jack Ruby before coming under the direction of Dewey Groom, who renamed it the Longhorn Ballroom. Groom developed it into one of the premier music venues of its time. The Ballroom hosted a wide array of performers, from country legends such as Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Merle Haggard, Charley Pride, Patsy Cline, and George Jones to internationally acclaimed jazz, blues, and R&B artists including B. B. King, Ray Charles, Nat King Cole, James Brown, and Al Green. Johnny Rodriguez, Freddy Fender, and Selena also performed on its stage.
