Historic House Specialist

HHS and AHHS seminars

The Historic House Specialist Seminar is designed to provide realtors with the tools necessary to market Dallas’ older properties. With the aid of audio/visual presentations, printed materials, question and answer sessions and hands-on research, real estate professionals will learn about historic building materials, legal practices, property research, and the economics of preservation. Topics include marketing and legal aspects of selling, purchasing, and relocating historic homes.

HHS class is held at least twice a year and is two days in length. Everyone is welcome to attend the class, and realtors can receive 8 hours of MCE credit.

Our Advanced Historic House Specialist (AHHS) seminar expands on the knowledge gained in the first seminar. Topics include materials and methods of construction in pre- and post-WWI housing in Dallas, the economics of historic preservation, the certificate of appropriate process, historic landscapes and advanced techniques of researching an historic building.

AHHS class is held at least twice a year and is one day in length. Everyone is welcome to attend the class, and realtors can receive 6 hours of MCE credit.

The next Historic House Specialist Class will be on January 28, 2025 – January 29, 2025.
