Internships


Periodically, Preservation Dallas offers unpaid internship opportunities for graduate or undergraduate students to gain an introduction to historic preservation practices and experience in developing and facilitating programming. Internship duties may include:

  • Conducting research focused on Dallas history and architecture
  • Assisting visitors with preservation resources, materials, research, and other issues pertaining to maintaining, restoring, or rehabilitation historic buildings
  • Planning and facilitating education programs for members and the general public, including classes, tours, seminars, and lectures
  • Administrative assistance to Preservation Dallas staff

Internship opportunities are open to individuals studying historic preservation, history or a related field. Candidates should have knowledge of architectural history and strong research, writing, and organizational skills. The ability to manage both research and administrative tasks is essential, and qualified candidates also should be comfortable working independently. Experience in MS Office is required, as is willingness to learn new software programs and technology.
